About me

Dear reader, please let me give you a brief introduction to me and my yoga practice.

You are very welcome to join my lessons and meet me in person.

I grew up in a big city in Ukraine, where different schools of yoga were very popular at that time. My first steps into the complex yoga world were when I was 12 years old and lucky enough to join a weekly yoga class for children. There, besides hatha yoga, we did some simple meditative practices to become aware of our emotions, in order to not be automatically led by them. It was then that my interest in the human inner world started to develop. Along with my engineering education at the Technical University, Kharkiv, I did a second master's in practical psychology. For some years, I combined the engaging career of software engineer with the inspiring work of being a psychologist. The more I studied and built up work and life experience, the more curious I became. In the quest for deeper understanding of human nature, I started to practice yoga regularly at the Ukrainian Yoga Federations in 2005 under the guidance of an esoteric, researcher and yoga teacher, Andrey Safronov, (https://independent.academia.edu/ASafronov).

In 2008 I moved to the Netherlands and continued to combine my work as a software engineer with strong involvement in yoga practice. In 2013 I started to teach both Small and Big Yoga. Small Yoga is a practical system of methods aimed at life quality improvements such as health, wealth, emotional state and concentration, while Big Yoga is aimed at consciously developing and changing your personality.

Now I am a certified yoga teacher (500 hours) in Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga Flow and Yin Yoga, with more than 8 years' teaching experience.

Periodically I take my students for intensive yoga seminar retreats in India and Ukraine.

In 2018 I followed my interest in esoteric methods of personal development and started a master programme's, Western Esotericism, at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), which was mainly focused on different esoteric traditions of the West in a historical perspective.

Now I teach yoga and also offer private consultations about personal life situations. This is either in person (in Amsterdam) or online.
